Philosophy

At Adventure Physiotherapy, we do not believe that charging for individual treatment techniques (IMS, concussion, pelvic health, etc.) is in the best interest of our patients. By having all treatment options equally compensated, we remove any incentive for therapists to offer more expensive options to the patient over less expensive, but more effective treatments. So our fees are based upon time alone, leaving your therapist to select whichever treatments they think would be most effective for you regardless of compensation.

Payment Options

We offer direct billing to most personal benefit companies. Payment is due at the end of each treatment session. If you have funding through a plan that we cannot direct bill we will provide a receipt for you to submit for compensation. We accept the following types of payment:

  • Credit (MasterCard, Visa, American Express)

  • Apple Pay

  • Debit

  • Cheque

  • Cash

Physio Assessment (45 Min)

$100.00

During the assessment, you and your therapist will meet and discuss your specific problem. This will be followed by whole body screening and isolated assessment of the problematic areas. This is done to help your therapist make a treatment prediction/theory that will provide guidance in the follow-up treatments. During the assessment, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers to your burning questions. The more fully you understand what is going on in your body and the process of getting better, the more success you will have in rehabilitation.

During the assessment, you and your therapist will meet and discuss your concerns. Your therapist may collect all pertaining history and information regarding this problem. During the assessment, an internal vaginal/rectal exam may be performed if necessary with consent. During the internal exam, your therapist will assess your pelvic floor muscles for tone, elasticity, pain and tenderness. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and you will leave with all the education and exercises required to begin your rehabilitation journey.

Pelvic Health Assessment (60 min)

Follow up Treatments (30 min)

During your treatment, your therapist will discuss any new developments from the previous visit and address any new questions that may have arisen. Once you and your therapist have established the effects of the previous visit they will assess the target area then perform passive (hands-on) and active (exercise) treatments. At the end of the treatment, the therapist will reassess the target area to gauge the effect of treatment and provide home exercises to help maintain the gains made during therapy.

Cancellation

We know that life can be busy and at times you are going to be unable to make your appointment. When reasonable, we require 24-hour cancellation notice so that we don't take away the opportunity for our therapists to help someone else. If you are unable to make your appointment and fail to notify us within a reasonable time frame you will be charged a $20.00 missed appointment fee.

Special Circumstances

  • If you are traveling from out of town for treatment, please ask about joining treatments together to make your trip to town more efficient. Also, ask about our Telehealth options.

  • If you feel you would benefit from physiotherapy services and are unable to afford care, please call and talk to our administrative team to find out what other options may be available to you. Please note that all prescribed health visits: WCB (Workers’ Compensations Board), motor vehicle collision, or visits for the economically challenged will be quick treatments.
